Which parts make up your bed?
Give the mattress dimensions and describe the frame. Are there one or two slatted bases, a headboard, bed drawers or extra shelves? For an already dismantled bed, the longest side-piece dimensions help. The sleeping surface alone does not tell us which parts need loading.
Box spring bases are often large and heavy. Send photos of each element and any known weights. A motor, storage compartment or tall headboard can affect planning. Check the documentation or ask the seller whether parts can be separated.
Will the mattress fit through the stairwell and lift?
Measure the routes at both addresses too. A wide mattress can be hard to move even if the frame is dismantled. Describe narrow door frames, stair turns and lift cabin size. We do not assume every mattress can be rolled or sharply bent; the manufacturer's instructions are decisive.
Tell us whether the bed is ready for collection or still assembled in the room. Dismantling and reassembly are discussed separately. Keep screws, fittings and small parts together in an organised way. Remove bedding and personal belongings before the agreed collection.
Who carries which bed parts?
A slatted base and a heavy box spring element may need different help. Tell us who is available to load and carry at collection and delivery. The options are your own helpers, your agreed help with one driver, or two requested staff members. If you carry with the driver, the team consists of one employee and you.
Agree the price, condition and payment for a used bed or mattress with the seller. For collection we need a reachable handover contact, a possible time window and access details. If you also want an old bed or mattress collected or disposed of, describe that extra request separately.
The quote follows the individual bed parts
For your quote, list the frame, mattress and all other elements. Their space requirements and weight, plus floors and carrying routes, matter. A bed in flat separate parts may require a different process from a complete box spring bed. We also consider the route, requested carrying help, extra collection locations and possible waiting time.
Even with a dismantled frame, the wide mattress can be the deciding part. If it must pass through a narrow stairwell, send its dimensions and photos of tight spots. Two slatted bases also belong on the list alongside the frame. Using the complete details, we discuss the scope you need and an available date. Your preferred day is fixed only once the trip is expressly confirmed.
